   Chanel knows how to compose, and Paris – Édimbourg (2021) is proof. Give it a little time and Lavender with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Lavender and Cedar feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   A couple of wears in, Paris – Édimbourg has really grown on me. That first spray gives a lovely Cypress/Juniper Berries impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Cypress with Juniper Berries peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. The composition is well made but not for me.

Give it a little time and Lavender with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   My first Chanel experience was this one, Paris – Édimbourg (2021). Right away I get mostly Cypress alongside Juniper Berries, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown leans on Musk plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I wanted to like it more than I did.

The first minutes are all about Cypress with a hint of Juniper Berries — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
