   I picked up Love Eau Intense (2011) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Iris with a hint of Heliotrope — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Iris and Heliotrope — bright and immediately recognizable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   My first Chloé experience was this one, Love Eau Intense (2011). The very first sniff is crisp Iris with Heliotrope peeking through, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Iris alongside Heliotrope, fresh and very easy to wear. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A couple of wears in, Love Eau Intense has really grown on me. Give it a little time and Lilac with Hyacinth comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Vanille and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

The drydown leans on Vanille plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lilac with Hyacinth, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.
