I’ve been wearing Oud Malaki on and off for a few weeks now (2012). As it settles, Agarwood (Oud) and dark woodsy notes come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Grapefruit with Lavender peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

I keep reaching for Oud Malaki more than I expected to. The first minutes are all about Grapefruit with a hint of Lavender β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tobacco with Spices, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough β€” it carries well without shouting. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

A decant of Oud Malaki sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: Tobacco and Spices feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Agarwood (Oud) and dark woodsy notes β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. It performs better in warmer weather β€” in the heat it opens up nicely. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Oud Malaki. The heart is the best part for me: Tobacco and Spices feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tobacco with Spices, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

A decant of Oud Malaki sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. That first spray gives a lovely Grapefruit/Lavender impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tobacco with Spices, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I would happily buy a full bottle.

A couple of wears in, Oud Malaki has really grown on me. The very first sniff is crisp Grapefruit with Lavender peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tobacco with Spices, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This one gets my highest praise β€” beautiful from start to finish.

A couple of wears in, Oud Malaki has really grown on me. That first spray gives a lovely Grapefruit/Lavender impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Grapefruit alongside Lavender, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

The heart is the best part for me: Tobacco and Spices feel carefully balanced. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

Everyone keeps talking about Oud Malaki, so I finally gave it a proper test. The opening is built around Grapefruit and Lavender β€” bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Grapefruit with a hint of Lavender β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. Two sprays are enough β€” it carries well without shouting. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

I picked up Oud Malaki (2012) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Grapefruit with Lavender peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Tobacco with Spices, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.
