   Clean knows how to compose, and Clean Warm Cotton (2007) is proof. The first minutes are all about Citruses with a hint of Lemon Verbena — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Citruses with Lemon Verbena peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   A couple of wears in, Clean Warm Cotton has really grown on me. The opening is built around Citruses and Lemon Verbena — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown leans on Musk plus Fern and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A decant of Clean Warm Cotton sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Give it a little time and Sea Notes with Orange Blossom comes forward — smooth and well done. That first spray gives a lovely Citruses/Lemon Verbena impression that dries down smoothly. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I have owned Clean Warm Cotton for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. As it settles, Musk and Fern come through and give it real depth. The base rests on Musk and Fern — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. The composition is well made but not for me.

Give it a little time and Sea Notes with Orange Blossom comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I would happily buy a full bottle.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Sea Notes with Orange Blossom, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Sea Notes and Orange Blossom feel carefully balanced. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.
