   For a 2001 release, 1872 For Men deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Virginia Cedar plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Clary Sage and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I have owned 1872 For Men for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Petitgrain alongside Lime, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown leans on Virginia Cedar plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I’ve been wearing 1872 For Men on and off for a few weeks now (2001). Right away I get mostly Petitgrain alongside Lime, fresh and very easy to wear. The opening is built around Petitgrain and Lime — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Clive Christian knows how to compose, and 1872 For Men (2001) is proof. The opening is built around Petitgrain and Lime — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Petitgrain with a hint of Lime — it grabs attention without being pushy. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I would happily buy a full bottle.

The base rests on Virginia Cedar and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I picked up 1872 For Men (2001) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Give it a little time and Clary Sage with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Virginia Cedar and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

The opening is built around Petitgrain and Lime — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Clary Sage with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

The drydown leans on Virginia Cedar plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

    A decant of 1872 For Men sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Petitgrain with Lime peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Clary Sage and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I wanted to like it more than I did.
