   Everyone keeps talking about Coach for Men, so I finally gave it a proper test. The opening is built around Pear and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cardamom with Geranium, which is where the fragrance really shines. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Coach for Men. Give it a little time and Cardamom with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. The composition is well made but not for me.

   A friend passed me a decant of Coach for Men (2017) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Pear/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Ambergris and Suede come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. The composition is well made but not for me.
