   A decant of Stetson sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The first minutes are all about Lavender with a hint of Clary Sage — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown leans on Honey plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A friend passed me a decant of Stetson (1981) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Lavender and Clary Sage — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown leans on Honey plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I have owned Stetson for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The heart is the best part for me: Carnation and Geranium feel carefully balanced. The first minutes are all about Lavender with a hint of Clary Sage — it grabs attention without being pushy. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Everyone keeps talking about Stetson, so I finally gave it a proper test. That first spray gives a lovely Lavender/Clary Sage impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Lavender alongside Clary Sage, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   Picked up a sample of Stetson after reading the community buzz (1981). Give it a little time and Carnation with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Honey and Musk come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
