   For a 2010 release, Aventus deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Birch plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Black Currant, fresh and very easy to wear. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   Everyone keeps talking about Aventus, so I finally gave it a proper test. The drydown leans on Birch plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Bergamot and Black Currant — bright and immediately recognizable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Picked up a sample of Aventus after reading the community buzz (2010). The base rests on Birch and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Give it a little time and Pineapple with Patchouli comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The very first sniff is crisp Bergamot with Black Currant peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Aventus on and off for a few weeks now (2010). The opening is built around Bergamot and Black Currant — bright and immediately recognizable. The drydown leans on Birch plus Musk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I wanted to like it more than I did.

This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
