   I’ve been wearing Himalaya on and off for a few weeks now (2002). As it settles, Musk and Ambergris come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Calabrian bergamot with Grapefruit peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   Everyone keeps talking about Himalaya, so I finally gave it a proper test. The drydown leans on Musk plus Ambergris and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. That first spray gives a lovely Calabrian bergamot/Grapefruit impression that dries down smoothly. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Himalaya. Right away I get mostly Calabrian bergamot alongside Grapefruit, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Calabrian bergamot/Grapefruit impression that dries down smoothly. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
