   I picked up Viking (2017) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lavender with Clove, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Lavender with Clove comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. The composition is well made but not for me.

   For a 2017 release, Viking deserves more attention than it gets. The very first sniff is crisp Pink Pepper with Peppermint peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Vetiver and Cedar — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Creed knows how to compose, and Viking (2017) is proof. The heart is the best part for me: Lavender and Clove feel carefully balanced. That first spray gives a lovely Pink Pepper/Peppermint impression that dries down smoothly. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A decant of Viking sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Right away I get mostly Pink Pepper alongside Peppermint, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Pink Pepper with a hint of Peppermint — it grabs attention without being pushy. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.
