   I’ve been wearing Ambre Tabac on and off for a few weeks now. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Sandalwood with Patchouli, which is where the fragrance really shines. The opening is built around Incense and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   A decant of Ambre Tabac sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Give it a little time and Sandalwood with Patchouli comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Tobacco and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Ambre Tabac. The very first sniff is crisp Incense with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Tobacco and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   Everyone keeps talking about Ambre Tabac, so I finally gave it a proper test. The drydown leans on Tobacco plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Tobacco and Amber come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   My first Daniel Josier experience was this one, Ambre Tabac. The heart is the best part for me: Sandalwood and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. The base rests on Tobacco and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
