   Dior knows how to compose, and Diorissimo (1956) is proof. The opening is built around Green Leaves and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Green Leaves with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A friend passed me a decant of Diorissimo (1956) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Give it a little time and Lily-of-the-Valley with Lilac comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Civet and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

As it settles, Civet and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The opening is built around Green Leaves and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I picked up Diorissimo (1956) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Green Leaves alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The base rests on Civet and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The base rests on Civet and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I wanted to like it more than I did.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lily-of-the-Valley with Lilac, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Lily-of-the-Valley and Lilac feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

The base rests on Civet and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
