   Everyone keeps talking about By, so I finally gave it a proper test. The very first sniff is crisp Nutmeg with Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Sandalwood and Tobacco come through and give it real depth. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   For a 1997 release, By deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lavender with Artemisia, which is where the fragrance really shines. The opening is built around Nutmeg and Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I’ve been wearing By on and off for a few weeks now (1997). The opening is built around Nutmeg and Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Nutmeg/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
