   I picked up The One for Men (2008) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Amber and Tobacco — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The first minutes are all about Grapefruit with a hint of Coriander — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   My first Dolce & Gabbana experience was this one, The One for Men (2008). Right away I get mostly Grapefruit alongside Coriander, fresh and very easy to wear. Give it a little time and Ginger with Cardamom comes forward — smooth and well done. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.
