   For a 2016 release, Dolce Rosa Excelsa deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Musk plus Cashmere Wood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Neroli alongside Papaya flower, fresh and very easy to wear. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I picked up Dolce Rosa Excelsa (2016) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Neroli/Papaya flower impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Musk and Cashmere Wood come through and give it real depth. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I have owned Dolce Rosa Excelsa for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The drydown leans on Musk plus Cashmere Wood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Neroli and Papaya flower — bright and immediately recognizable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

The base rests on Musk and Cashmere Wood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

Give it a little time and Rose with Turkish Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
