   I’ve been wearing Green Wood on and off for a few weeks now (2019). The drydown leans on Ambroxan plus Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Lemon with a hint of Bourbon Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I picked up Green Wood (2019) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The opening is built around Lemon and Bourbon Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Lemon alongside Bourbon Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I keep reaching for Green Wood more than I expected to. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Vetiver with Cedar, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown leans on Ambroxan plus Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   A friend passed me a decant of Green Wood (2019) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Ambroxan plus Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Ambroxan and Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha come through and give it real depth. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   Dsquared² knows how to compose, and Green Wood (2019) is proof. Give it a little time and Vetiver with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Lemon with Bourbon Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I have owned Green Wood for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The drydown leans on Ambroxan plus Cypriol Oil or Nagarmotha and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. That first spray gives a lovely Lemon/Bourbon Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
