Dsquared² knows how to compose, and Potion (2011) is proof. The opening is built around Angelica and Mint — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Angelica/Mint impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

I keep reaching for Potion more than I expected to. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Pepper, which is where the fragrance really shines. Right away I get mostly Angelica alongside Mint, fresh and very easy to wear. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

My first Dsquared² experience was this one, Potion (2011). The opening is built around Angelica and Mint — bright and immediately recognizable. As it settles, Amber and Cashmere Wood come through and give it real depth. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

A couple of wears in, Potion has really grown on me. That first spray gives a lovely Angelica/Mint impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Amber and Cashmere Wood come through and give it real depth. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Potion. That first spray gives a lovely Angelica/Mint impression that dries down smoothly. As it settles, Amber and Cashmere Wood come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

For a 2011 release, Potion deserves more attention than it gets. Give it a little time and Cinnamon with Pepper comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Amber and Cashmere Wood come through and give it real depth. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

I picked up Potion (2011) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Angelica alongside Mint, fresh and very easy to wear. The heart is the best part for me: Cinnamon and Pepper feel carefully balanced. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

A couple of wears in, Potion has really grown on me. As it settles, Amber and Cashmere Wood come through and give it real depth. The drydown leans on Amber plus Cashmere Wood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

A couple of wears in, Potion has really grown on me. The heart is the best part for me: Cinnamon and Pepper feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Amber and Cashmere Wood come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
