   I picked up I Am (2000) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Raspberry with Black Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Magnolia with Violet, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A couple of wears in, I Am has really grown on me. As it settles, Sandalwood and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. The heart is the best part for me: Magnolia and Violet feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   A friend passed me a decant of I Am (2000) and I wasn’t prepared for it. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Magnolia with Violet, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Magnolia and Violet feel carefully balanced. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

The first minutes are all about Raspberry with a hint of Black Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
