   A couple of wears in, Ellen Tracy has really grown on me. Give it a little time and Orris Root with Aldehydes comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Sandalwood and Musk come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   My first Ellen Tracy experience was this one, Ellen Tracy. The heart is the best part for me: Orris Root and Aldehydes feel carefully balanced. The opening is built around Peach and Plum — bright and immediately recognizable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I’ve been wearing Ellen Tracy on and off for a few weeks now. The very first sniff is crisp Peach with Plum peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orris Root with Aldehydes, which is where the fragrance really shines. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

The base rests on Sandalwood and Musk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I picked up Ellen Tracy mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Sandalwood and Musk come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Peach/Plum impression that dries down smoothly. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I wanted to like it more than I did.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orris Root with Aldehydes, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

Right away I get mostly Peach alongside Plum, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
