   I have owned Apres for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Bourbon whiskey with Guaiac Wood comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Cedar and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   My first Ellis Brooklyn experience was this one, Apres (2021). The heart is the best part for me: Bourbon whiskey and Guaiac Wood feel carefully balanced. As it settles, Cedar and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Bourbon whiskey with Guaiac Wood, which is where the fragrance really shines. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Apres on and off for a few weeks now (2021). The first minutes are all about Juniper Berries with a hint of Cardamom — it grabs attention without being pushy. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Bourbon whiskey with Guaiac Wood, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A friend passed me a decant of Apres (2021) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Juniper Berries/Cardamom impression that dries down smoothly. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Bourbon whiskey with Guaiac Wood, which is where the fragrance really shines. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I would happily buy a full bottle.

As it settles, Cedar and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.
