   A decant of Bee sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The first minutes are all about Rum with a hint of Davana — it grabs attention without being pushy. The opening is built around Rum and Davana — bright and immediately recognizable. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   Ellis Brooklyn knows how to compose, and Bee (2021) is proof. Give it a little time and Honey with Bran comes forward — smooth and well done. The first minutes are all about Rum with a hint of Davana — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I picked up Bee (2021) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Rum alongside Davana, fresh and very easy to wear. Give it a little time and Honey with Bran comes forward — smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   A couple of wears in, Bee has really grown on me. The very first sniff is crisp Rum with Davana peeking through, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Rum alongside Davana, fresh and very easy to wear. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I keep reaching for Bee more than I expected to. The heart is the best part for me: Honey and Bran feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Cacao and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

That first spray gives a lovely Rum/Davana impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
