Everyone keeps talking about Rockin’ Rio, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Peach and Sugar Cane feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Peach with Sugar Cane comes forward β€” smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

For a 2005 release, Rockin’ Rio deserves more attention than it gets. The first minutes are all about Pineapple with a hint of Papaya β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. As it settles, Coconut and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

I keep reaching for Rockin’ Rio more than I expected to. The drydown leans on Coconut plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Coconut and Sandalwood β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

A couple of wears in, Rockin’ Rio has really grown on me. The base rests on Coconut and Sandalwood β€” warm, grounded and easy to live with. Right away I get mostly Pineapple alongside Papaya, fresh and very easy to wear. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I would happily buy a full bottle.

A decant of Rockin’ Rio sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Pineapple with Papaya peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Coconut and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

A couple of wears in, Rockin’ Rio has really grown on me. The first minutes are all about Pineapple with a hint of Papaya β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. The heart is the best part for me: Peach and Sugar Cane feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Well done β€” recommended if the notes appeal to you.

A friend passed me a decant of Rockin’ Rio (2005) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Coconut plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Pineapple with Papaya peeking through, very much my kind of start. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I keep reaching for Rockin’ Rio more than I expected to. As it settles, Coconut and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Pineapple alongside Papaya, fresh and very easy to wear. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. The composition is well made but not for me.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Rockin’ Rio. The first minutes are all about Pineapple with a hint of Papaya β€” it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Pineapple with Papaya peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

Escada knows how to compose, and Rockin’ Rio (2005) is proof. Give it a little time and Peach with Sugar Cane comes forward β€” smooth and well done. The opening is built around Pineapple and Papaya β€” bright and immediately recognizable. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.
