   I keep reaching for Velvet Iris more than I expected to. That first spray gives a lovely Buchu or Agathosma/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The first minutes are all about Buchu or Agathosma with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   For a 2025 release, Velvet Iris deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Buchu or Agathosma alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. The opening is built around Buchu or Agathosma and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I have owned Velvet Iris for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Buchu or Agathosma alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Buchu or Agathosma with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Velvet Iris. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orris with Iris, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Saffiano Leather and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I’ve been wearing Velvet Iris on and off for a few weeks now (2025). As it settles, Saffiano Leather and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Buchu or Agathosma with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

The opening is built around Buchu or Agathosma and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I picked up Velvet Iris (2025) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The opening is built around Buchu or Agathosma and Pink Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Saffiano Leather and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   My first Essential Parfums experience was this one, Velvet Iris (2025). The base rests on Saffiano Leather and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Buchu or Agathosma with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

The drydown leans on Saffiano Leather plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Orris and Iris feel carefully balanced. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
