   A couple of wears in, Knowing has really grown on me. The heart is the best part for me: Patchouli and Cardamom feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Patchouli with Cardamom comes forward — smooth and well done. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   I keep reaching for Knowing more than I expected to. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Oakmoss and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I’ve been wearing Knowing on and off for a few weeks now (1988). The base rests on Oakmoss and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Patchouli and Cardamom feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   My first Estée Lauder experience was this one, Knowing (1988). The opening is built around Aldehydes and Mimosa — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Aldehydes/Mimosa impression that dries down smoothly. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I have owned Knowing for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of Mimosa — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Oakmoss and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   Picked up a sample of Knowing after reading the community buzz (1988). As it settles, Oakmoss and Patchouli come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Aldehydes alongside Mimosa, fresh and very easy to wear. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

    A friend passed me a decant of Knowing (1988) and I wasn’t prepared for it. As it settles, Oakmoss and Patchouli come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Patchouli with Cardamom, which is where the fragrance really shines. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
