   A friend passed me a decant of Pleasures Intense (2002) and I wasn’t prepared for it. Right away I get mostly Green Lily alongside Peony, fresh and very easy to wear. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Lily with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   Estée Lauder knows how to compose, and Pleasures Intense (2002) is proof. Give it a little time and Lily with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Maple and Vanilla come through and give it real depth. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I’ve been wearing Pleasures Intense on and off for a few weeks now (2002). The drydown leans on Maple plus Vanilla and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The heart is the best part for me: Lily and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

I would happily buy a full bottle.
