I have owned Sensuous Noir for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The first minutes are all about Spices with a hint of Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. The heart is the best part for me: Pine and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

I’ve been wearing Sensuous Noir on and off for a few weeks now (2010). The first minutes are all about Spices with a hint of Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Amber and Benzoin — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

A couple of wears in, Sensuous Noir has really grown on me. The heart is the best part for me: Pine and Patchouli feel carefully balanced. The opening is built around Spices and Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Picked up a sample of Sensuous Noir after reading the community buzz (2010). As it settles, Amber and Benzoin come through and give it real depth. The first minutes are all about Spices with a hint of Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

A decant of Sensuous Noir sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. That first spray gives a lovely Spices/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. Give it a little time and Pine with Patchouli comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

I picked up Sensuous Noir (2010) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Right away I get mostly Spices alongside Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Spices with a hint of Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

I keep reaching for Sensuous Noir more than I expected to. The first minutes are all about Spices with a hint of Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. That first spray gives a lovely Spices/Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

My first Estée Lauder experience was this one, Sensuous Noir (2010). The opening is built around Spices and Pepper — bright and immediately recognizable. The first minutes are all about Spices with a hint of Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I wanted to like it more than I did.

For a 2010 release, Sensuous Noir deserves more attention than it gets. As it settles, Amber and Benzoin come through and give it real depth. Give it a little time and Pine with Patchouli comes forward — smooth and well done. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I wanted to like it more than I did.
