   My first Ex Nihilo experience was this one, Gold Immortals (2020). That first spray gives a lovely Pear/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Pear alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   Everyone keeps talking about Gold Immortals, so I finally gave it a proper test. As it settles, Musk and Amber come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Picked up a sample of Gold Immortals after reading the community buzz (2020). The opening is built around Pear and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Peony with Lysylang, which is where the fragrance really shines. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I have owned Gold Immortals for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Musk and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
