   A friend passed me a decant of The Hedonist (2021) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The heart is the best part for me: Akigalawood® and Cedar feel carefully balanced. Give it a little time and Akigalawood® with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I picked up The Hedonist (2021) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The heart is the best part for me: Akigalawood® and Cedar feel carefully balanced. The drydown leans on Vetiver plus Tonka Bean and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   My first Ex Nihilo experience was this one, The Hedonist (2021). Right away I get mostly Bergamot alongside Ginger, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Bergamot with a hint of Ginger — it grabs attention without being pushy. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

As it settles, Vetiver and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.
