   Ex Nihilo knows how to compose, and Venenum Kiss (2015) is proof. The base rests on Vanilla and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Vanilla and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   A decant of Venenum Kiss sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The heart is the best part for me: Rose and Amber feel carefully balanced. The very first sniff is crisp Saffron with Nutmeg peeking through, very much my kind of start. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   A friend passed me a decant of Venenum Kiss (2015) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Saffron and Nutmeg — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Saffron/Nutmeg impression that dries down smoothly. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
