   I keep reaching for ennui_noir more than I expected to. The base rests on Vanilla and Patchouli — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Lavender with Myrtle peeking through, very much my kind of start. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   Picked up a sample of ennui_noir after reading the community buzz (2016). The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The very first sniff is crisp Lavender with Myrtle peeking through, very much my kind of start. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Everyone keeps talking about ennui_noir, so I finally gave it a proper test. The heart is the best part for me: Heliotrope and Cedar feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Heliotrope with Cedar, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
