   Filippo Sorcinelli knows how to compose, and LAVS (2014) is proof. Right away I get mostly Black Pepper alongside Cardamom, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Black Pepper with Cardamom peeking through, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I have owned LAVS for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Opoponax and Oakmoss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Opoponax and Oakmoss come through and give it real depth. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   My first Filippo Sorcinelli experience was this one, LAVS (2014). That first spray gives a lovely Black Pepper/Cardamom impression that dries down smoothly. Give it a little time and elemi with Labdanum comes forward — smooth and well done. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

Give it a little time and elemi with Labdanum comes forward — smooth and well done. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. I would happily buy a full bottle.

I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.
