   A couple of wears in, The Lover’s Tale has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Orris with Peach, which is where the fragrance really shines. The opening is built around Honey and Mimosa — bright and immediately recognizable. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A couple of wears in, The Lover’s Tale has really grown on me. The drydown leans on Leather plus Castoreum and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. As it settles, Leather and Castoreum come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A friend passed me a decant of The Lover’s Tale (2018) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Leather plus Castoreum and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The opening is built around Honey and Mimosa — bright and immediately recognizable. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I have owned The Lover’s Tale for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The base rests on Leather and Castoreum — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Orris and Peach feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

The base rests on Leather and Castoreum — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   Francesca Bianchi knows how to compose, and The Lover’s Tale (2018) is proof. Give it a little time and Orris with Peach comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Leather and Castoreum — warm, grounded and easy to live with. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.
