   I’ve been wearing French Lover on and off for a few weeks now (2007). The base rests on Vetiver and Oakmoss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Angelica and Cedar feel carefully balanced. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   Everyone keeps talking about French Lover, so I finally gave it a proper test. The base rests on Vetiver and Oakmoss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Vetiver and Oakmoss come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   I keep reaching for French Lover more than I expected to. The very first sniff is crisp Galbanum with Juniper peeking through, very much my kind of start. The drydown leans on Vetiver plus Oakmoss and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   I picked up French Lover (2007) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. That first spray gives a lovely Galbanum/Juniper impression that dries down smoothly. Give it a little time and Angelica with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I have owned French Lover for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Angelica with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. The first minutes are all about Galbanum with a hint of Juniper — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.

   Everyone keeps talking about French Lover, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Angelica with Cedar, which is where the fragrance really shines. The base rests on Vetiver and Oakmoss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Right away I get mostly Galbanum alongside Juniper, fresh and very easy to wear. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
