   My first Frederic Malle experience was this one, Iris Poudre (2000). Right away I get mostly Ylang-Ylang alongside Carnation, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Iris and Musk come through and give it real depth. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   Frederic Malle knows how to compose, and Iris Poudre (2000) is proof. Give it a little time and Violet with Lily comes forward — smooth and well done. The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Lily feel carefully balanced. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   Everyone keeps talking about Iris Poudre, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Ylang-Ylang alongside Carnation, fresh and very easy to wear. The very first sniff is crisp Ylang-Ylang with Carnation peeking through, very much my kind of start. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   For a 2000 release, Iris Poudre deserves more attention than it gets. The heart is the best part for me: Violet and Lily feel carefully balanced. The very first sniff is crisp Ylang-Ylang with Carnation peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. The composition is well made but not for me.

   For a 2000 release, Iris Poudre deserves more attention than it gets. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Violet with Lily, which is where the fragrance really shines. Give it a little time and Violet with Lily comes forward — smooth and well done. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. The composition is well made but not for me.

Give it a little time and Violet with Lily comes forward — smooth and well done. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.
