   Picked up a sample of Lipstick Rose after reading the community buzz (2000). The very first sniff is crisp Raspberry with Litchi peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Violet, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   I’ve been wearing Lipstick Rose on and off for a few weeks now (2000). Right away I get mostly Raspberry alongside Litchi, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A friend passed me a decant of Lipstick Rose (2000) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The drydown leans on Vanilla plus Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Violet, which is where the fragrance really shines. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

   I picked up Lipstick Rose (2000) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The base rests on Vanilla and Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Violet, which is where the fragrance really shines. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   A couple of wears in, Lipstick Rose has really grown on me. The first minutes are all about Raspberry with a hint of Litchi — it grabs attention without being pushy. As it settles, Vanilla and Amber come through and give it real depth. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Give it a little time and Iris with Violet comes forward — smooth and well done. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. The composition is well made but not for me.
