   I’ve been wearing Armani Code Absolu on and off for a few weeks now (2019). The very first sniff is crisp Green Mandarin with Apple peeking through, very much my kind of start. That first spray gives a lovely Green Mandarin/Apple impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   Everyone keeps talking about Armani Code Absolu, so I finally gave it a proper test. The base rests on Vanilla and Tonka Bean — warm, grounded and easy to live with. As it settles, Vanilla and Tonka Bean come through and give it real depth. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Nutmeg with Orange Blossom, which is where the fragrance really shines. The opening is built around Green Mandarin and Apple — bright and immediately recognizable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.
