   I picked up Cuir Noir (2011) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Leather with Vanille, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Leather and Vanille feel carefully balanced. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. The composition is well made but not for me.
