   A friend passed me a decant of Amarige Mariage (2006) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The base rests on Benzoin and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. That first spray gives a lovely Bitter Orange/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Amarige Mariage. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cinnamon with Jasmine, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown leans on Benzoin plus Sandalwood and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Amarige Mariage on and off for a few weeks now (2006). The very first sniff is crisp Bitter Orange with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The base rests on Benzoin and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   Picked up a sample of Amarige Mariage after reading the community buzz (2006). The opening is built around Bitter Orange and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Bitter Orange alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
