   Everyone keeps talking about Eau Torride, so I finally gave it a proper test. The very first sniff is crisp Peach with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Peach with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. It lasts through a full workday on me, which is exactly what I want. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   A friend passed me a decant of Eau Torride (2002) and I wasn’t prepared for it. That first spray gives a lovely Peach/Bergamot impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Bamboo and Black Elder feel carefully balanced. After a few hours it becomes a soft skin scent with a lovely trail. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A couple of wears in, Eau Torride has really grown on me. The opening is built around Peach and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Bamboo with Black Elder, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

   Givenchy knows how to compose, and Eau Torride (2002) is proof. The base rests on Jasmine and Sandalwood — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The very first sniff is crisp Peach with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Eau Torride. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Bamboo with Black Elder, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Jasmine and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Eau Torride. As it settles, Jasmine and Sandalwood come through and give it real depth. Right away I get mostly Peach alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
