   Everyone keeps talking about Fleur d’Interdit, so I finally gave it a proper test. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cyclamen with Lilac, which is where the fragrance really shines. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Iris and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   I picked up Fleur d’Interdit (1994) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Melon with Watermelon peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Cyclamen with Lilac, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I’ve been wearing Fleur d’Interdit on and off for a few weeks now (1994). Right away I get mostly Melon alongside Watermelon, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Melon with a hint of Watermelon — it grabs attention without being pushy. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
