My first Givenchy experience was this one, Gentleman (1974) (1974). Right away I get mostly Honey alongside Rose, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Honey/Rose impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I would happily buy a full bottle.

I picked up Gentleman (1974) (1974) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The opening is built around Honey and Rose — bright and immediately recognizable. The very first sniff is crisp Honey with Rose peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Full-bottle worthy without a doubt.

I picked up Gentleman (1974) (1974) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The very first sniff is crisp Honey with Rose peeking through, very much my kind of start. The first minutes are all about Honey with a hint of Rose — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

A decant of Gentleman (1974) sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Give it a little time and Patchouli with Cedar comes forward — smooth and well done. The opening is built around Honey and Rose — bright and immediately recognizable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I have owned Gentleman (1974) for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Right away I get mostly Honey alongside Rose, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Honey with a hint of Rose — it grabs attention without being pushy. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

Givenchy knows how to compose, and Gentleman (1974) (1974) is proof. The very first sniff is crisp Honey with Rose peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Patchouli and Cedar feel carefully balanced. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I would happily buy a full bottle.

I have owned Gentleman (1974) for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The opening is built around Honey and Rose — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Patchouli with Cedar, which is where the fragrance really shines. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Picked up a sample of Gentleman (1974) after reading the community buzz (1974). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Patchouli with Cedar, which is where the fragrance really shines. The heart is the best part for me: Patchouli and Cedar feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.
