   My first Givenchy experience was this one, Gentleman (2017) (2017). The opening is built around Pear and Cardamom — bright and immediately recognizable. The base rests on Leather and Black Vanilla Husk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   Picked up a sample of Gentleman (2017) after reading the community buzz (2017). The drydown leans on Leather plus Black Vanilla Husk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Pear with a hint of Cardamom — it grabs attention without being pushy. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I have owned Gentleman (2017) for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Iris with Lavender, which is where the fragrance really shines. The base rests on Leather and Black Vanilla Husk — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   I have owned Gentleman (2017) for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. Give it a little time and Iris with Lavender comes forward — smooth and well done. As it settles, Leather and Black Vanilla Husk come through and give it real depth. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A couple of wears in, Gentleman (2017) has really grown on me. The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Cardamom peeking through, very much my kind of start. Right away I get mostly Pear alongside Cardamom, fresh and very easy to wear. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. The composition is well made but not for me.

The drydown leans on Leather plus Black Vanilla Husk and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   A friend passed me a decant of Gentleman (2017) (2017) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The very first sniff is crisp Pear with Cardamom peeking through, very much my kind of start. As it settles, Leather and Black Vanilla Husk come through and give it real depth. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.
