   My first Givenchy experience was this one, Gentleman Society (2023). Right away I get mostly Cardamom alongside Sage, fresh and very easy to wear. That first spray gives a lovely Cardamom/Sage impression that dries down smoothly. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   I have owned Gentleman Society for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The first minutes are all about Cardamom with a hint of Sage — it grabs attention without being pushy. The heart is the best part for me: French narcissus and Haitian Vetiver feel carefully balanced. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. The composition is well made but not for me.

The very first sniff is crisp Cardamom with Sage peeking through, very much my kind of start. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   For a 2023 release, Gentleman Society deserves more attention than it gets. The heart is the best part for me: French narcissus and Haitian Vetiver feel carefully balanced. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into French narcissus with Haitian Vetiver, which is where the fragrance really shines. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. I would happily buy a full bottle.

Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.
