   My first Givenchy experience was this one, Ysatis (1984). The heart is the best part for me: Tuberose and Jasmine feel carefully balanced. The very first sniff is crisp Ylang-Ylang with Aldehydes peeking through, very much my kind of start. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I keep reaching for Ysatis more than I expected to. The opening is built around Ylang-Ylang and Aldehydes — bright and immediately recognizable. That first spray gives a lovely Ylang-Ylang/Aldehydes impression that dries down smoothly. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

   My first Givenchy experience was this one, Ysatis (1984). Give it a little time and Tuberose with Jasmine comes forward — smooth and well done. The drydown leans on Honey plus Civet and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Ysatis. The first minutes are all about Ylang-Ylang with a hint of Aldehydes — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Ylang-Ylang alongside Aldehydes, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I picked up Ysatis (1984) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. As it settles, Honey and Civet come through and give it real depth. That first spray gives a lovely Ylang-Ylang/Aldehydes impression that dries down smoothly. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I wanted to like it more than I did.

A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

    For a 1984 release, Ysatis deserves more attention than it gets. Right away I get mostly Ylang-Ylang alongside Aldehydes, fresh and very easy to wear.
