   For a 1996 release, Eau du Sud deserves more attention than it gets. The heart is the best part for me: Lime and Lemon Verbena feel carefully balanced. Right away I get mostly Basil alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   Everyone keeps talking about Eau du Sud, so I finally gave it a proper test. Right away I get mostly Basil alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. The first minutes are all about Basil with a hint of Bergamot — it grabs attention without being pushy. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. I wanted to like it more than I did.

   I’ve been wearing Eau du Sud on and off for a few weeks now (1996). The base rests on Oakmoss and Vetiver — warm, grounded and easy to live with. The heart is the best part for me: Lime and Lemon Verbena feel carefully balanced. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   A friend passed me a decant of Eau du Sud (1996) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The opening is built around Basil and Bergamot — bright and immediately recognizable. Right away I get mostly Basil alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   A couple of wears in, Eau du Sud has really grown on me. As it settles, Oakmoss and Vetiver come through and give it real depth. The very first sniff is crisp Basil with Bergamot peeking through, very much my kind of start. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Pleasant, though I would not call it essential.

   For a 1996 release, Eau du Sud deserves more attention than it gets. The drydown leans on Oakmoss plus Vetiver and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Basil alongside Bergamot, fresh and very easy to wear. It is not the loudest scent I own, but the balance suits it well. I wanted to like it more than I did.
