   I keep reaching for Quel Amour! more than I expected to. Give it a little time and Peony with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. The base rests on Amber — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A decant of Quel Amour! sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. That first spray gives a lovely Red Currant/Pomegranate impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Peony and Geranium feel carefully balanced. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. Easily one of my favourite finds this season.

   Goutal knows how to compose, and Quel Amour! (2002) is proof. The drydown leans on Amber and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Give it a little time and Peony with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. The composition is well made but not for me.

   A couple of wears in, Quel Amour! has really grown on me. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Peony with Geranium, which is where the fragrance really shines. As it settles, Amber come through and give it real depth. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. I would happily buy a full bottle.

   For a 2002 release, Quel Amour! deserves more attention than it gets. Give it a little time and Peony with Geranium comes forward — smooth and well done. The very first sniff is crisp Red Currant with Pomegranate peeking through, very much my kind of start. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. Worth sampling before committing to a bottle.
