I have owned Cabochard for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. The opening is built around Aldehydes and Sage — bright and immediately recognizable. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Geranium with Orris Root, which is where the fragrance really shines. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

I picked up Cabochard (1959) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Aldehydes with a hint of Sage — it grabs attention without being pushy. The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Sage peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.

Picked up a sample of Cabochard after reading the community buzz (1959). The drydown leans on Leather plus Oakmoss and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The base rests on Leather and Oakmoss — warm, grounded and easy to live with. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

The opening is built around Aldehydes and Sage — bright and immediately recognizable. Projection stays close for the first hour, then becomes a soft, pleasant aura. I would happily buy a full bottle.

I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Cabochard. The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Sage peeking through, very much my kind of start. The heart is the best part for me: Geranium and Orris Root feel carefully balanced. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. The composition is well made but not for me.

A decant of Cabochard sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. Give it a little time and Geranium with Orris Root comes forward — smooth and well done. Right away I get mostly Aldehydes alongside Sage, fresh and very easy to wear. It projects politely for a couple of hours, then stays close and cosy. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.

I have owned Cabochard for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. That first spray gives a lovely Aldehydes/Sage impression that dries down smoothly. The opening is built around Aldehydes and Sage — bright and immediately recognizable. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

A friend passed me a decant of Cabochard (1959) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The very first sniff is crisp Aldehydes with Sage peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Geranium with Orris Root, which is where the fragrance really shines. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. A very likeable composition that is easy to appreciate.
