   A couple of wears in, Envy Me has really grown on me. That first spray gives a lovely Peony/Pink Pepper impression that dries down smoothly. The heart is the best part for me: Peony and Litchi feel carefully balanced. It wears beautifully in the office; I can still catch it on my scarf at the end of the day. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Envy Me. Right away I get mostly Peony alongside Pink Pepper, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown leans on Musk plus Tobacco and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The trail is there if someone steps close, not across the room. Well done — recommended if the notes appeal to you.

   A friend passed me a decant of Envy Me (2004) and I wasn’t prepared for it. The first minutes are all about Peony with a hint of Pink Pepper — it grabs attention without being pushy. The base rests on Musk and Tobacco — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I enjoy it when I wear it, yet I rarely think of reaching for it.

   A decant of Envy Me sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The very first sniff is crisp Peony with Pink Pepper peeking through, very much my kind of start. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Peony with Litchi, which is where the fragrance really shines. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. I can see its quality, but it simply is not my style.
