   Everyone keeps talking about Bois d’Arménie, so I finally gave it a proper test. The drydown leans on Copaiba balsam plus Patchouli and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. Right away I get mostly Frankincense alongside Iris, fresh and very easy to wear. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. This has earned a permanent spot in my rotation.

   I picked up Bois d’Arménie (2006) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Gaiac wood with Benzoin, which is where the fragrance really shines. The first minutes are all about Frankincense with a hint of Iris — it grabs attention without being pushy. It performs better in warmer weather — in the heat it opens up nicely. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   Picked up a sample of Bois d’Arménie after reading the community buzz (2006). After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Gaiac wood with Benzoin, which is where the fragrance really shines. Right away I get mostly Frankincense alongside Iris, fresh and very easy to wear. In cooler weather it sits closer to the skin, which I actually prefer here. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.

   My first Guerlain experience was this one, Bois d’Arménie (2006). That first spray gives a lovely Frankincense/Iris impression that dries down smoothly. Right away I get mostly Frankincense alongside Iris, fresh and very easy to wear. Longevity is moderate and the trail is noticeable without being loud. Sadly this one does not work on my skin.
