   I have owned Chamade for a while now and my opinion has only gotten stronger. That first spray gives a lovely Hiacynth/Aldehydes impression that dries down smoothly. The very first sniff is crisp Hiacynth with Aldehydes peeking through, very much my kind of start. Two sprays are enough — it carries well without shouting. I reach for it often and always enjoy the wear.

   I picked up Chamade (1969) mostly on a whim, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The first minutes are all about Hiacynth with a hint of Aldehydes — it grabs attention without being pushy. Right away I get mostly Hiacynth alongside Aldehydes, fresh and very easy to wear. Three sprays last me most of the day without ever becoming cloying. It is fine, but it does not stand out in my collection.

   I’ve been wearing Chamade on and off for a few weeks now (1969). The drydown leans on Tolu Balsam plus Benzoin and that is exactly where it feels most comfortable. The first minutes are all about Hiacynth with a hint of Aldehydes — it grabs attention without being pushy. The drydown lingers pleasantly, and I do not need to reapply at lunch. A solid addition for anyone who enjoys this style.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Chamade. Right away I get mostly Hiacynth alongside Aldehydes, fresh and very easy to wear. As it settles, Tolu Balsam and Benzoin come through and give it real depth. On my skin the performance is reliable, not a beast but far from weak. I can see this getting a lot of wear in my collection.

   I needed a full wearing before I made my mind up about Chamade. As it settles, Tolu Balsam and Benzoin come through and give it real depth. After about twenty minutes the heart settles into Galbanum with Rose, which is where the fragrance really shines. Performance is consistent: comfortable sillage and several hours of wear on my skin. The composition is well made but not for me.

    A decant of Chamade sat in my box for weeks before I finally wore it. The base rests on Tolu Balsam and Benzoin — warm, grounded and easy to live with. Give it a little time and Galbanum with Rose comes forward — smooth and well done. I get about four to six hours before it turns into a skin scent. This one gets my highest praise — beautiful from start to finish.
